Paddy’s Facts

An English team who can’t speak Spanish but love everything about the lifestyle and food of Spain. Paddy and Martin were the food team behind the first 10 years of ego restaurants and have decided to go out on their own. In the old Bishop of Liverpool’s residence we have created a modern, urban tapas bar where the focus is on the little things that make the big things work. With money scraped together, houses remortgaged (don’t tell Justine!) and a big bank loan we have used our small budget as an advantage in the authentic style of a local neighbourhood tapas bar in Spain. Come in for a cold beer and a bowl of olives, selection of tapas or Sunday paella.

Any bad cook can ruin fantastic ingredients.

I’m not sure If I’m on my own but If I read ‘we only source, local, rare bread, 28 day aged, organic, blah, blah, blah’ on a menu I just might scream! We do these things but don’t feel the need to pontificate about them, we also spend a lot of time finding superb food that isn’t local but tastes great. What we are about is contemporary tapas plates, hand carved Ibérico hams, bar snacks and fantastic puddings. Wines from the best Spanish vineyards, stunning Cava’s, modern Sherries and a selection of handpicked south American wine served with warmth in the heart of the best city in England.
